New tab item in nav bar
We now have a way for users to record contributions they make to the GP-MI. Contributions are donations of goods, services, or money that is not submitted through our online Donations page. Contribution details are saved to our database and automatic emails notify the appropriate GP-MI officers.
If you have created a user account on this website and successfully verified your email, then you will see the Contributions tab under the Donate nav bar button after logging in, (see above). Clicking on it presents the following screen.
Contribution details screen
You’ll note the definition of direct and in-kind contributions, and the link to the State regulations that define our responsibility to record and report contributions.
Attach receipt files
You’ll see that you can enter a contribution for anyone. However, the record will show that you submitted the data.
After submitting the details of a contribution, you are prompted to upload files that can be used as receipts. Clicking on the Add Receipt button loads the following page.
Receipt file upload screen
After uploading the receipt copies, which are likely image or pdf files, clicking Return brings us back to the contribution details page.
Contribution with attachments
The textual definition of a contribution has been moved to a popup, to make room for the list of attached receipt files. The user can modify the contribution details or delete it altogether.
From now on, when the user clicks the nav bar to record a new contribution, the list of previous contributions will be shown.
Clicking on the select button will take us to the details page where the contribution can be modified or deleted. Again, any changes will result in automatic emails to the user and to the appropriate GP-MI officers.
The GP-MI Treasurer will find contribution data listed with credit card donations made from this website, as seen below.
Clicking the grid button will take the treasurer to the details page. The treasurer can modify or delete any contribution.
The list above can be searched or filtered by Type, which currently distinguishes between credit card donations from the donations page and contributions, which is everything else. The list can be exported to a spreadsheet for private use.
This added feature is expected to help the GP-MI maintain its donations records as years go by and officers transition, by centrally locating them on our own web platform.
