Statewide Membership Meeting
Grand Rapids - March 7, 2020
The weather was good and so was meeting turnout, for our Spring Membership Meeting in Grand Rapids. Two main items on the agenda were our Officer Elections and a forum for the GP-US Presidential contenders.
Several of the meeting details will be added to this article later, as they become available. These will include a link to the video, meeting minutes, and election results.
You may notice changes to the officer and committee member lists before they are reported here because content on this website is managed by several people.
In general, things ran smoothly, but there were some unexpected issues. For example, the Wi-Fi was not capable of adequately handling the video stream. It started off choppy and when others tapped into the network it choked completely. Coffee makers, microphone, and the controller for the overhead projector were locked away from us. Charlotte ran for Biggby's coffee and I had my PA, just in case. We used the whiteboard near the center top of the image above.
The meeting ran smoothly. Newcomers even remarked about how pleased they were with the way we conducted our discussions and decision making. We gained some new members from Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo.
Six of the eight US Presidential candidates conducted a forum to answer questions and present their visions for a Green White House.
Meeting minutes and other details will follow soon with updates to this article.
Special thanks to John Anthony La Pietra for organizing and compiling the packet of materials, Paul Homeniuk for the venue arrangements, and Charlotte Aikens for printing the packet materials, and everyone else for making the meeting a success.
